Chevrolet Corvette C8.R

Introduced in 2020, the rear-engined Corvette took time to get into its stride in the FIA WEC. After huge success in America, the FIA WEC was a tougher nut to crack for the General Motors outfit, with one win coming in three part-time campaigns pre-2023.

In 2023, after the LMGTE Pro category was dissolved, LMGTE Am became the flagship GT category and home for the striking GTE machines. A sole, manufacturer blessed Corvette was entered by Corvette Racing for a full season attack on the machines from Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche.

With Nicolás Varrone, Nicky Catsburg and Ben Keating at the wheel, the trio gelled instantly to create an almost unbeatable outfit with the team sealing an emotional victory at Sebring on home soil for the Corvette, the first round of the season.

Two further wins followed in Portugal and France – with the 24 Hours of Le Mans victory another milestone for the bright yellow machine – as the team lifted the last GTE trophy at Le Mans. A fourth in Monza helped them seal the championship with two rounds to spare.
