Gensis GMR-001
The Genesis GMR-001 Hypercar marks Genesis Magma Racing’s first step onto the world endurance racing stage, making its FIA WEC debut in 2026. Built to LMDh regulations in partnership with ORECA, the prototype combines a carbon-fibre chassis with Genesis’ distinctive “Athletic Elegance” design and a hybrid powertrain centred around a 3.2-litre twin-turbo V8, developed by Hyundai Motorsport from its WRC engine architecture. The system produces around 690 PS, with a 50 kW front-mounted electric motor, Williams Advanced Engineering battery and Xtrac seven-speed gearbox.
Genesis Magma Racing entered two GMR-001s in 2026, with André Lotterer, Pipo Derani and Mathys Jaubert sharing #17, while Mathieu Jaminet, Paul-Loup Chatin and Dani Juncadella drove #19. The car scored its first WEC points with eighth at Spa before making its historic 24 Hours of Le Mans debut. At La Sarthe, #19 completed 372 laps to finish 13th, while #17 retired after 263 laps.
