Community Update – January 2026

Hello LMU Community

Happy 2026! We hope you have all enjoyed playing LMU over the holiday season, the servers have been busier than ever and just as excited as we are for what this year will bring for LMU.

The Motorsport Games & Studio 397 Team has have been loving seeing the whole community racing, competing and streaming in all various races over the last few weeks – even taking part in a few ourselves (with varying degrees of success!).

Now at the beginning of a new year, we wanted to update you all on future updates and what to expect from LMU over the next couple of months

Version 1.2, Patch 2

Released today, this latest patch brings some important fixes including black carbon liveries, being able to see Online Championship standings and key updates to the HUD behavior.

You can read the full patch notes here – https://guide.lemansultimate.com/hc/en-gb/articles/14928780204303-V1-2-2-0-Update-2-Patch-2

Version 1.2, Patch 3

This release will be early-to-mid February and contain new Hypercar tyres, BoP adjustments and one or two code changes to keep moving the game forward between major releases. It is primarily focused towards content improvements however.

Perhaps these could have been rushed out the door in our latest patch – but we would rather take the time to go through a bit more refinement before they’re fully baked and ready to go.

Version 1.3

This is still expected at the end of March, details to be shared much closer to the release date!

Team Races & 24 Hours Le Mans Test Event

This past weekend once again exhibited the dedication and passion of the LMU Community. 12 time slots and over 5,100 teams took part in the 4 Hours of Spa and almost matching the game’s peak concurrent player count on Sunday!

It is clear to us how popular these events are and we know a lot of you have been asking on the progress of Team Events and the next scheduled Le Mans 24 Hours. We’ve made a number of changes already, including 10x increasing the bandwidth on teams servers and adding ability to recreate splits if there’s a configuration error.

We’re now pleased to announce that the next 24 Hours Le Mans Test Event will be held with start times available on the 27th and 28th February 2026.

Not only does this allow us a little more time with the necessary development and QA time, but also for new teams and lineups to form, new liveries to be made and 38 more days from now to perfect your setup!

This will, once again, be classified a test event – meaning we do still expect player feedback and issues to be uncovered – but we hope with the communities understanding and patience we can look forward to another exciting weekend of racing.

Finally, to fill keep the community racing fit, we will continue to run 4 Hour Team Races over the next month – starting with 4 Hours of Interlagos in 2 weeks, and 4 Hours Bahrain (Outer) in mid-Feb (full details below). Team Online Championships will also continue to be available.

Summary

Thank you to everyone for their continued support of the LMU title and we’re looking forward to another huge year with lots more features and content to come!
