Community Update – June 2025
Hello Le Mans Ultimate fans
Thanks to your support, we’ve reached new peak concurrent and daily active user counts in the last week to numbers we’ve never even dreamt of!
Despite those successes, we’re acutely aware of the issues that some of you have experienced since the last update on 10th June.
TL;DR – patch coming on Thursday
Why are there more problems than before?
We made substantial changes to the game to incorporate custom liveries and team events that changes the technical flow for online events. We also removed a middleware technology and incorporated the functions it performed directly into the game code to improve our stability over the longer-term.
Since we released the update, the community has found issues which have not come up in test with our smaller pool of testers. We are working hard on prioritising and fixing these issues.
Additionally, the sheer size of the influx of players thanks to the update and the visibility of the 24 Hours of Le Mans has occasionally meant we’ve been reaching our internal capacity (240 servers) and falling back into the “backup” pool which boot up much slower than our main machines.
What action are we taking?
We have already deployed 3 hotfixes and a number of server-side updates.
There will be a patch due on Thursday 19th June to address most of our top issues right now, we’re looking forward to bringing that to you as soon as possible.
Additionally, we are postponing the first public driver swap test (originally scheduled for 20/21 June). We don’t think it will be long before we schedule it again but we want all our code team’s eyes on bringing the game stability back to par for single driver events before layering on the complexity of driver swaps.
Finally, for the servers, we’re looking to add more but also increase the speed that the backup machines boot.
