#708 Glickenhaus Racing
#709 Glickenhaus Racing
Joining the FIA WEC Hypercar class in 2021, Glickenhaus will always be a fan favourite and enjoyed riding off its ‘David’ status in the high-speed fight over the last three seasons against Goliathan manufacturer brands.
The SCG 007 is one of the most striking cars on the grid and in the right hands is quick around the track too. In its debut season in 2021, Glickenhaus notched up a podium in Monza giving the American team a solid platform for an assault in 2022. Podiums followed at Sebring and Spa to get the season off to a flyer. The American Dream continued to build with the privateer team stepping on the Le Mans podium with a fine third for the #708 machine, with the #709 just a handful of laps behind in fourth. They stand as the last private outfit to achieve an overall rostrum at Le Mans but sadly withdrew from the WEC following the Italian round.
The momentum was building as they chased down the Toyota team – on just a fraction of the budget. They secured their second pole of the year at Monza and were leading for the majority of the race before turbo woes denied the plucky privateers their first win.
In 2023, with limited development, the Glickenhaus team struggled for pace against the big five manufactures in front of them but a strong result at Le Mans saw the two cars finish the 24 Hours in sixth and seventh respectively.
