Race Highlights - The Losail International Circuit in Lusail, Qatar
Lusail International Circuit (LIC), located on the outskirts of Doha, Qatar, is a premier motorsports venue renowned for hosting top-tier events such as Formula 1, MotoGP, and the FIA World Endurance Championship (WEC). The circuit spans 5.38km and features 16 turns. Constructed in just under a year, LIC opened in 2004 with the inaugural Qatar Motorcycle Grand Prix. In 2008, it became the first circuit to host night races under floodlights. The track has undergone significant renovations to meet the standards of international racing series, including Formula 1.
Lusail made its debut in the FIA World Endurance Championship in 2024, hosting the Qatar 1812 KM race, named in honor of Qatar’s National Day. The event featured a 10 hour endurance race that began in daylight and concluded under the circuit’s iconic floodlights. Porsche Penske Motorsport secured victory in this inaugural race. Following the success of the 2024 event, Lusail hosted the WEC season opener again in 2025, solidifying its status as a key venue in the endurance racing calendar.
