Monza magic as Proton Competition set to make WEC Hypercar debut
Ahead of the fifth round of the FIA World Endurance Championship at Monza, Le Mans Ultimate pulled the covers off the latest Hypercar to join the grid, showing the striking Proton Competition Porsche 963 LMDh Hypercar in all its glory before the real car hit the track for the first time on Friday.
Within the space of a week, Proton Competition unveiled the car, Studio 397 team prepped the Porsche, designed the livery and applied to the 963 and put it into the test build of the game for a few development laps. A few tweaks to make to the car and final livery, but boy it’s looking good!
The temple of speed – the iconic circuit nestled in northern Italy is about to explode with excitement as the FIA World Endurance Championship heads to the fast and flowing circuit for round five of the globetrotting series. Ferrari will look to continue its fine form after victory at the 24 Hours of Le Mans, with Toyota, Cadillac, Porsche, Peugeot, Glickenhaus and Vanwall hunting them down.
The ever growing Hypercar class will gain its latest recruit this weekend with the arrival of a new Porsche 963 LMDh in the hands of Proton Competition. The German outfit are no strangers to the FIA WEC as the team have run the Porsche 911 RSR – 19 GTE car for several seasons.
Stepping into the premier category, the number #99 963 will be driven by Harry Tincknell, Gianmaria Bruni and Neel Jani during the six-hour event this weekend.
